New site, at last

I’ve been trying to re-vamp my online presence for over two years now, since I finally stopped updating my old college days blog (still visible for posterity) and had a brief flirtation with magntize (great as a sort of online business card, but not much use really…)

So here it is!  You can see my portfolio of work, and link straight to all my social networking pages.  I’ll also be posting some thoughts and opinions on marketing, web design, management and generally how small business can get by in this new changed (broke) Ireland!!!  Talk soon.

Kenmare.ie – Kenmare Chamber of Commerce and Tourism

Kenmare Chamber of Commerce and Tourism needed a modern, dynamic website to promote the interests of the group and the town of Kenmare. They had a custom site designed by a third party which was a step in the right direction but difficult to maintain.

I joined the chamber website committee in 2009 and took control of site development. Together we made major modifications to the site and CMS to provide a richer experience, layered menus, priority member listings, community blog, excellent social media (facebook, twitter, flickr) interaction and more.

RVR.ie – Energy Technology Experts

This well known Irish heating suppier required a highly customised solution with full integration with existing product databases.  Built the site from scratch using ASPX and SQL Server.  Launched in December 2005.

Major update in 2008 added the ability for staff to write articles using a wiki backend, and have them published to the site under an “Advice for visitors” section.
